Taecan.com Announces Record 1st Quarter Sales of Online CLE

 

First Quarter, 2001 Sales Surpass all of 2000; Royalty Payments Released Early.

 

 

SEATTLE, WA   April 15, 2001  - At a time when many dot com companies are closing their doors for lack of revenue, Taecan.com, Inc., the Seattle company which operates the worlds largest internet site for distribution of Continuing Legal Education,  has posted its biggest sales quarter ever.   Attorneys from around the world bought 8488 CLE courses through Taecan in the first quarter of 2001--60% more than Taecan sold in all four quarters of 2000 (see graph below), and far more than any other online CLE provider.

While the Q-1, 2001 sales figures represent a substantial increase over prior quarters and prior years, they still represent only a small portion of the total revenues generated by sales of traditional CLE “ Live” seminar products. As more and more Professionals realize the cost savings and convenience of completing their training online, the company expects to see dramatic increases in the penetration rates. This increase will drive revenues (and royalties to Bar Associations) even higher.

 

Royalties to Taecan Content Partners Paid Early

 

Taecan.com contracts with Bar Organizations to rapidly post and administer the Bar Organization’s CLE seminars online.   The agreements call for the quarterly payment of a percentage of sales of online programs to Taecan’s Content Partners.  Results of the first quarter 2001 sales were so significant that Taecan.com management  made the decision to release royalty payments early to its Sponsor partners. . In a move that delighted it’s Bar Association content partners, the checks were mailed today.
