How does online CLE Work? return to top

After choosing a course and paying for a course, you can access the course for free until its expiration date (which can be found under the course title on the course description page). You can pass the test and return to the course materials for reference, or you can return to the course at any time within that period to complete the test.

Once you have successfully passed the test, you will be able fill out a course evaluation, submit for credit, and print a certificate of completion for your records.

I can't get to the test. What do I do? return to top

Some customers have experienced problems accessing the test in Netscape and Firefox browsers. If this happens, try opening the course from Internet Explorer and click the Resume Where Last Viewed button. The Take Test button should appear upon completion on the presentation.

If you do not see the "Take test" button at the end of the course, make sure that your system is configured properly to allow the Take Test button to appear: Run Windows Media Player. Under the menu Tools->Options, go to the Security tab. Make sure that the option "Run script commands when present" IS checked. Make sure that the option "Do not run script commands and rich media streams if the Player is running inside a Web page" is NOT checked.

For Ohio and NY users, if the problems continues, please email us by clicking here. Please include a phone number and a good time to reach you. You can also call us at 206-285-3411.

For all other attorneys:

1. Log out by clicking HERE. Our home page will be displayed.
2. Log back in as a return user with the username/password you chose during full registration.
3. Reaccess the course as you did before. When you get to the payment screen, it will remember that you've already paid for the course.
4. Click on Get CLE credit.
5. Complete the test, course evaluation, and CLE credit submission page as usual.

What if my machine crashes in the middle of a course? Or if I'm called away urgently in the middle of a course and have to exit it without completing it? return to top

If you have paid for a course and have not completed it, then you will be allowed free access back into that course at any time as long as the course is available. Refunds are not available. If you have any problems click here to contact us.

Once I have passed a course, does my credit get submitted on that date?

No. Taecan.com submits a CLE credit report to each accrediting body every two weeks. This report is incorporated into the bar's licensing records according to the standard procedures of the state. On certain occassions, such as deadline periods, Taecan.com will submit reports more frequently.

Additionally, Taecan.com will not submit credit reports in self-reporting jurisdictions which currently include Arizona, California, New York, and Missouri. If you have questions about credit processing, contact customer service at 206-285-3411.

How is my credit card information protected? return to top

Sophisticated encryption tools have been implemented to protect your credit card number. Taecan.com uses certification, encryption and online verification from Verisign, the world's leading provider of secure payment solutions.

But isn't my credit card number stored on your database, and isn't that a security risk? return to top

No credit card details are stored on the Taecan.com database. Once you have submitted your credit card number to pay for a course, the credit card number is immediately sent in encrypted form online to Cybercash , who will authorize or refuse payment through normal credit card authorization channels. A code giving payment authorization is then received by Taecan.com. At no time are credit card numbers stored in the Taecan.com database.

How do I disable my Pop-up Blocker? return to top

In Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Pop-up Blocker, and then click on Pop-up Blocker Settings. Type www.taecan.com in the box 'Address of Web site to allow' and click Add, then Close.
